Let’s talk about favours! Just how do you go about finding that perfect sweet little gesture to say thank you to your guests for sharing your special day? I know that often, especially when you have a large guest list, favours can end up as an expensive extra. However, if you know where to shop (or how to get crafty!), there are some fabulous budget-friendly wedding favours that are thoughtful, fun and will be loved by your guests. I have scoured the world-wide-web for all you lovely brides-to-be to find stylish, unique, fun and personal wedding favours (that won’t be left behind on tables and forgotten about!). So read on for some great Wedding Library money saving tips and recommendations! I do hope you like them…
1. Lucky Lottery Tickets or Scratch Cards –‘Be Lucky in Love!’
Simple and fun because who doesn't love the thrill of a chance to win! Package the tickets or cards up in a pretty little personalised envelope with a lucky penny inside and pop them at each place setting. That way they can even double up as a name card. For fabulous scratch card holders, do have a look at Etsy’s 'Pocketfoldinvites' – we love their ‘We tied the knot now we hope you hit the jackpot!’
2. Tasty Popcorn - All because he popped the question!
Popcorn favours are so easy and inexpensive to make up yourself. You can purchase simple sweetie bags or mini-popcorn boxes online from a wide range of suppliers. If you are counting the pennies, do have a look on Ebay – there are some fabulous boxes that you simply fold together. Just pop in your popcorn and place a personalised sticker on the front for the perfect sweet treat!
3. Mint to Be!
Hugely popular and fabulous as a budget-friendly wedding favour. It’s easy to buy Polos or Tic Tacs in multipacks and simply place in pretty little paper bags with a personal sticker or tag that reads ‘Mint to Be!’ If you prefer, you can also buy them ready packaged online. Just send your names and date of your wedding for a super personalised and inexpensive favour. Have a look on Etsy for ‘Mint to Be’ options and you will be spoilt for choice! We love these Polo packs from Etsy’s PopFizzCheers.
4. Drink Me! We tied the Knot, now take a Shot!
There are so many options for putting these together. If you prefer to decant your own tipple of choice, you can buy beautiful cork-topped mini shot bottles, or small screw top jars very easily online with personalised labels. Alternatively there are some wonderful suppliers out there. One of our absolute favourites is Hearth and Heritage. Their pink gin favours are simply wonderful! And if gin isn’t your thing, have a look at their Limoncello or DIY shot options.
You can also find some amazing shot glasses online with prices starting at just £0.99! We love the short and tall shot glasses from Etsy’s HeartandSoulWedding. You can choose from a huge range of wedding designs, ink colours and fonts…and what better to have your guests toast your happy day then with their own personalised glass!
5. Personalised Love Hearts - Love is Sweet!
Who doesn’t love Swizzels Love Hearts! Have a look at MakeItSweetUK (Etsy) for easy personalisation and fantastic service. You could pop these in small hessian ‘Thank You’ bags, coloured silk organza bags or simple card favour boxes, all of which can be easily sourced online.

They make gorgeous ‘flump couples’ – wrapped with a ‘Love is Sweet’ or '’Thank You' sticker. Unique, colourful, fun and delicious!
9. Cake Pops
Custom wedding cake pops, individually wrapped make a wonderful sweet treat. If you are using a professional cake maker to supply your wedding cake, my advice would be to speak to them first to see if they can help. Alternatively (if you are not an aspiring ‘Bake Off’ applicant and want to have a go yourself!), have a look at yumbles; or for the perfect bride and groom cake pops, I highly recommend CarlaCakePops on Etsy. These work out at approx. £3/cake pop. They are stunning and totally delicious! The groom’s tie and flower colour can even be personalised.
10. Lavender Bags
Pretty little hessian or organza drawstring bags of dried flowers, such as lavender, are perfectly in-keeping for a summer wedding. They can easily be personalised with a simple thank you tag. We love daisyshop – you can choose loose lavender and fill your own bags or why not choose their gorgeous embroidered, ready-filled bags? If you buy 20+, these work out at approximately £2/bag.

Packets of seeds or biodegradable seed papers are a fabulous choice for a spring or summer wedding and perfect if you are following a rustic theme.

We also love seed packet favours from ADayToRememberStudio (Etsy), which contain love heart confetti made from seed paper. Each favour is beautifully wrapped and contains a fully customisable card that can include your names and wedding date. These continue to be very much on trend for 2020 weddings, and are inexpensive to buy and grow, working out at approximately £1/mini-plant. They are perfect for a rustic wedding. These come in a myriad of colours and are perfect if you are looking to match the boxes to your wedding colours.
14. Honey – ‘Meant to Bee!’

17. Lovely Lollipops
A pretty lolly at each setting will really add to your table décor. Choose from chocolate hearts to gorgeous handmade lollipops in a variety of colours and flavours. Have a look at Etsy's Walkston for some fabulous heart lollipops in a rainbow of colours. We also highly recommend Etsy's HollyLollies. Their lollipops are beautiful, delicious and fully customisable. You can choose colours and flavours to suit your wedding’s theme and design the tags with a quote or message for your guests. Whatever you choose, you can be sure to get some fabulous guest photos (especially if you are hiring our wonderful bespoke selfie-frame!).
We found customisable options online (add your names and date of the wedding to the frames) from just £0.70. They come in a wide range of colours, complete with a personalised tag that reads ‘Don’t get blinded by our love!’.
If you are feeling creative in the kitchen, these are one of the easier things to make. Chocolate truffles are always a winner! We love Etsy’s ThePlaitedBakery. Each individual ribbon tied box, comes with two delicious truffles for a little over £3.
21. Luggage Tags – 'And so the Adventure Begins!
If travel and adventure is what draws you together as a couple, you might like to consider leather luggage tags as your wedding favour of choice. These are a slightly more expensive option (approx. £5/tag) but make amazing thank you gifts. Do have a look at LetterandLeather (Etsy). Their tags are simply wonderful! Choose from a range of colours and wording including, ‘and so the adventure begins’ and ‘Here’s to all the places we went and all the places we will go’.
