30 Fabulous Wedding Favours (that won’t break the wedding budget!)

Let’s talk about favours! Just how do you go about finding that perfect sweet little gesture to say thank you to your guests for sharing your special day? I know that often, especially when you have a large guest list, favours can end up as an expensive extra. However, if you know where to shop (or how to get crafty!), there are some fabulous budget-friendly wedding favours that are thoughtful, fun and will be loved by your guests. I have scoured the world-wide-web for all you lovely brides-to-be to find stylish, unique, fun and personal wedding favours (that won’t be left behind on tables and forgotten about!). So read on for some great Wedding Library money saving tips and recommendations! I do hope you like them…

Etsy's 'Pocketfoldinvites

1. Lucky Lottery Tickets or Scratch Cards –‘Be Lucky in Love!’

Simple and fun because who doesn't love the thrill of a chance to win! Package the tickets or cards up in a pretty little personalised envelope with a lucky penny inside and pop them at each place setting. That way they can even double up as a name card. For fabulous scratch card holders, do have a look at Etsy’s 'Pocketfoldinvites' – we love their ‘We tied the knot now we hope you hit the jackpot!’


2. Tasty Popcorn - All because he popped the question!

Popcorn favours are so easy and inexpensive to make up yourself. You can purchase simple sweetie bags or mini-popcorn boxes online from a wide range of suppliers. If you are counting the pennies, do have a look on Ebay – there are some fabulous boxes that you simply fold together. Just pop in your popcorn and place a personalised sticker on the front for the perfect sweet treat!

3. Mint to Be!

Hugely popular and fabulous as a budget-friendly wedding favour. It’s easy to buy Polos or Tic Tacs in multipacks and simply place in pretty little paper bags with a personal sticker or tag that reads ‘Mint to Be!’ If you prefer, you can also buy them ready packaged online. Just send your names and date of your wedding for a super personalised and inexpensive favour. Have a look on Etsy for ‘Mint to Be’ options and you will be spoilt for choice! We love these Polo packs from Etsy’s PopFizzCheers.


4. Drink Me! We tied the Knot, now take a Shot!

There are so many options for putting these together. If you prefer to decant your own tipple of choice, you can buy beautiful cork-topped mini shot bottles, or small screw top jars very easily online with personalised labels. Alternatively there are some wonderful suppliers out there. One of our absolute favourites is Hearth and Heritage. Their pink gin favours are simply wonderful! And if gin isn’t your thing, have a look at their Limoncello or DIY shot options.

You can also find some amazing shot glasses online with prices starting at just £0.99! We love the short and tall shot glasses from Etsy’s HeartandSoulWedding. You can choose from a huge range of wedding designs, ink colours and fonts…and what better to have your guests toast your happy day then with their own personalised glass!


5. Personalised Love Hearts - Love is Sweet!

Who doesn’t love Swizzels Love Hearts! Have a look at MakeItSweetUK (Etsy) for easy personalisation and fantastic service. You could pop these in small hessian ‘Thank You’ bags, coloured silk organza bags or simple card favour boxes, all of which can be easily sourced online.


6. Temporary Tattoos

Remember when you were young how much fun temporary tattoos were? There are so many fun and beautiful designs to choose from for weddings. Do have a look at Etsy – ‘Cookillu’ provide amazing custom couple portrait tattoos! We also love the designs by AstraeaInk which are supplied in individual craft envelopes. At approximately £1/person, whichever personalised design you choose, these are brilliant favours for those on a budget.

7. Mini Meringue Kisses

One of our absolute favourites - A boxed meringue kiss! Have a look at meringuegirls. Their kisses come in a rainbow assortment of colours and flavours and make the perfect wedding favour. For a small extra fee, you can even add an edible disc to any kiss with your initials, a photo or personal message.


8. Marshmallows – Fabulous Flump Couples!

Delicious, colourful and fun, with the added bonus that they can be made or bought a week or two in advance. There are so many options online to choose from. For marshmallow inspiration, do have a look at themarshmallowist - their wedding marshmallows are simply beautiful! Another of our favourites comes from CustomCookiesDesigns (Etsy). They make gorgeous ‘flump couples’ – wrapped with a ‘Love is Sweet’ or '’Thank You' sticker. Unique, colourful, fun and delicious!

9. Cake Pops

Custom wedding cake pops, individually wrapped make a wonderful sweet treat. If you are using a professional cake maker to supply your wedding cake, my advice would be to speak to them first to see if they can help. Alternatively (if you are not an aspiring ‘Bake Off’ applicant and want to have a go yourself!), have a look at yumbles; or for the perfect bride and groom cake pops, I highly recommend CarlaCakePops on Etsy. These work out at approx. £3/cake pop. They are stunning and totally delicious! The groom’s tie and flower colour can even be personalised.

10. Lavender Bags

Pretty little hessian or organza drawstring bags of dried flowers, such as lavender, are perfectly in-keeping for a summer wedding. They can easily be personalised with a simple thank you tag. We love daisyshop – you can choose loose lavender and fill your own bags or why not choose their gorgeous embroidered, ready-filled bags? If you buy 20+, these work out at approximately £2/bag.

11. Fortune Cookies

Real fortune cookies are both affordable and fun! You can even buy personalised cookies with your own forecasts. The most difficult bit is choosing what you want inside them! We totally love ifortunecookies. You can personalise them with up to five different messages on the front of the slip and add your names and wedding date to the back.


12. Seeds – Let Love Grow!

Packets of seeds or biodegradable seed papers are a fabulous choice for a spring or summer wedding and perfect if you are following a rustic theme.

One of our favourites comes from LittleSoapBar (Etsy). They provide eco-friendly seed hearts that are sure to delight your guests. We also love seed packet favours from ADayToRememberStudio (Etsy), which contain love heart confetti made from seed paper. Each favour is beautifully wrapped and contains a fully customisable card that can include your names and wedding date. If sunflowers are your wedding flower of choice, do have a look for ‘sunflower seed favours’ – there are some fabulous options available.


13. Succulents –‘Our Day would have Succ’d without YOU!’

These continue to be very much on trend for 2020 weddings, and are inexpensive to buy and grow, working out at approximately £1/mini-plant. They are perfect for a rustic wedding. You can personalise them simply by adding a sticker or plant label to say thank you with your wedding date and names. You can also find ‘succulent wraps’ – little boxes that fit around mini-pots. These come in a myriad of colours and are perfect if you are looking to match the boxes to your wedding colours.

14. Honey – ‘Meant to Bee!

Mini honey glass jar favours, complete with drizzler spoons are perfect for a rustic or vintage themed wedding. Depending on your budget, you might like to purchase the jars, fill with your own choice of honey and add personalised labels. Have a look at Sugarcrushweddings – these work out at about £2.50/favour for the cork-topped glass jar, honey drizzler and personalised card. For ready filled wedding favour jars, we love west-country-honey. Their honey is simply delicious and it's fabulous to use a really good local supplier.

15. Wedding Rock Candy - 'Love is Sweet'

A sweet wedding trend that looks as good as it tastes! There are so many wonderful colours and flavours to choose from and you can handpick the sweetie messages that mean the most to you, including ‘Wedding Day’, ‘Truly Madly Deeply’, ‘True Love’ , ‘Just Married’, Bride & Groom’, ‘Together Forever’, ‘Thank You’ and lots, lots more! for some inspiration. Pop your candy in thank you bags or super cute favour boxes for a fab finishing touch.


16. Sugared Almonds

Traditionally wedding guests would receive a small bag or box containing five sugared almonds representing the five blessings of Health, Wealth, Happiness, Long Life and Fertility. If you are looking for a classic and traditional favour, then almonds are the perfect choice.

17. Lovely Lollipops

A pretty lolly at each setting will really add to your table décor. Choose from chocolate hearts to gorgeous handmade lollipops in a variety of colours and flavours. Have a look at Etsy's Walkston for some fabulous heart lollipops in a rainbow of colours. We also highly recommend Etsy's HollyLollies. Their lollipops are beautiful, delicious and fully customisable. You can choose colours and flavours to suit your wedding’s theme and design the tags with a quote or message for your guests. You can even add the names of your guests to each lolly and use them instead of place cards.

18. Wedding Biscuits

From shortbread to gingerbread, there are so many wonderful wedding cookies to choose from, the most difficult bit will be choosing which design to go for! For cookie inspiration, have a look at quintessentialcookies. There are some beautiful designs, all completely customisable and costing less than £2.50/cookie. We also love these super cute bride & groom cookies from sugarblisscakecompany.

19. Sunglasses – Because Love is Dazzling!

Perfect for a summer wedding, inexpensive and fun! Pop a pair at each place setting or place in a favour basket with a sign that reads ‘Because Love is Dazzling…please take a pair!’ Choose multi-coloured frames or even heart-shaped glasses. Whatever you choose, you can be sure to get some fabulous guest photos (especially if you are hiring our wonderful bespoke selfie-frame!).

We found customisable options online (add your names and date of the wedding to the frames) from just £0.70. Although a little more expensive at £2.70/pair, we love these glasses from sugarcrushweddings. They come in a wide range of colours, complete with a personalised tag that reads ‘Don’t get blinded by our love!’.


20. Truffles

If you are feeling creative in the kitchen, these are one of the easier things to make. Chocolate truffles are always a winner! Alternatively, have a look on Etsy for some fabulously creative and delicious truffles – here you will find everything from champagne and strawberry, cherry and pistachio to chocolate vegan varieties! We love Etsy’s ThePlaitedBakery. Each individual ribbon tied box, comes with two delicious truffles for a little over £3.

21. Luggage Tags – 'And so the Adventure Begins!

If travel and adventure is what draws you together as a couple, you might like to consider leather luggage tags as your wedding favour of choice. These are a slightly more expensive option (approx. £5/tag) but make amazing thank you gifts. Do have a look at LetterandLeather (Etsy). Their tags are simply wonderful! Choose from a range of colours and wording including, ‘and so the adventure begins’ and ‘Here’s to all the places we went and all the places we will go’.

If these are a little outside of your budget but you would still like a travel theme, why not choose some super cute mini-suitcase wedding favour boxes (100 for £18 on Amazon). Simply fill them with candy and add your own personalised card luggage tag for the perfect favour.

22. Hot Chocolate Kit

Treat your guests to a hot chocolate kit! These are hugely popular as winter wedding favours. If you have a limited budget, these are very easy to DIY with chocolate sachets and mini-marshmallows. Have a look at Pinterest for some easy creative ideas. There are also plenty of wonderful and inexpensive ready-made options, including hot chocolate stirring-spoons, personalised hot chocolate cones, tubes and mini-mason jars. We love the hot choccy tubes from Etsy’s ThePureMoment (£2.18/tube).

23. Candles

There are so many amazing designs to choose from, with something for every budget. Yankee Candle’s ‘Wedding Day’ are always popular, but there are also some fabulous supermarket wedding candles that you might like to consider (Home Bargains have small jar wedding candles from just £0.59p!). If you are looking for personalised candles, lots of companies will supply jars or tins with your names and wedding dates. Do have a look at hearthandheritage - their candle favours are simply beautiful!


24. Tea – Because you are Tea-rific!

From heart-shaped tea bags and heart-shaped tea strainers, to loose leaf tea in a super cute tube, tea favours are here to stay! You can have some fun with personalisation too, with ‘Tea for Two’, ‘Let Love Brew’ or ‘The Perfect Blend’! You can also buy personalised tea envelopes online for you to fill with your own blend.

Treat your guests to a little post-party pamper time! We love these wonderful handmade heart- shaped bombs from millingtonsgifts. Choose your scent, petal toppings and coloured organza bag containing three beautiful bombs for just £1.95.


26. Coasters

Lots of choice here, from personalised wooden coasters starting at approx. £2/favour, to the most beautiful floral acrylic coasters (we adore the designs at Etsy’s ECreative16). If you are looking for something sustainable and rustic, do have a look at the gorgeous natural slate coasters from Etsy’s PrettyLittleLaserco. They make for a really special and thoughtful favour.

27. Jam or Marmalade – Spread some Love!

Mini jars of jam or marmalade look amazing at a vintage or rustic wedding, especially if you personalise the labels and add pretty fabric lid covers. You can DIY it all the way and make sure your favours really are jam packed with love! Hearth and Heritage offer inexpensive DIY packages, or for approx. £3.70/favour, why not opt for their yummy Strawberry & Prosecco Jam?


28. Charity Donation

Charity wedding favours are a wonderful way to show your support and donate generously to a cause close to your heart, whilst giving your guests a meaningful keepsake of your special day. Many national charities such as the NSPCC, MacMillan and Dogs Trust will provide a range of small gifts or place-cards in exchange for your donation. If you prefer to support a smaller local charity, it’s always worth asking them if they would be happy to collaborate. It’s wonderful to know that your wedding favours really can make a difference.

We totally love this idea – something a little bit different and we guarantee so much fun when they start whizzing about at your reception! Great for children and adults alike! At a little over £1/favour, these are another inexpensive but fun wedding thank you! Have a look at Etsy’s FavoursforU. We love their ‘We played our cards right’ pockets containing chocolate playing cards. These are fully customisable on the front and back of the pockets. You can add your names, date of the wedding and your own thank you message on the reverse of each sleeve.
